I determined that it took 2 gallons of flow to get warm water, so this little 2.5 gallon heater was just the ticket, and small enough to fit under the sink along with the reverse osmosis filters and accumulator, disposer and all that. The heater itself works great and uses a standard 110V circuit so no special wiring is required. We had a recirculating pump on the hot water system in our precious house, but that turned out to be problematic and expensive as a retrofit for a multilevel house. And I wanted no part of a gadget that bleeds hot water into the cold water line - it throws away hot water and the cold water is hot when first turned on. This water heater was an ideal solution. It is fed by the hot water line and the hot water supply is essentially instantaneous and continuous, that is, the hot water from the main water heater arrives before the small tank is emptied. Because the main heater is set at a slightly higher temperature, the small electric heater does not even turn on.
