Few things that I wish to see improved:- When the water is ready to be dispensed, the only indicator is the tiny boiling light turning off. If there was a beep or a chime, it would be very helpful. - Water drain on the bottom of the pot is raised almost an inch. No matter what you do, you will end up with an inch of water at the bottom that you cannot use unless you flip the pot. - When you unlock, a red light comes on. Many people think it is a infrared sensor. In other words, they think it will dispense when the light is blocked. To dispense, you have to press the dispense button or press a cup against a small white lever behind the spout. - There is no timer setting, so the pot will always be on. - Yes, the unit is warm to touch. Don't think it is insulated enough. For the price, the product is decent. We got another boiler because our 2nd kid still ask for milk/formula at early hours. To save time we decide to buy one for second flr.one of the review for the same prod, diff link mention it is not sealed well. We noticed that also. If you touch the outside of the boiler, it is very hot. Hot enough that you probably do not want to leave your hands there for too long. We used both Zojirushi and Panasonic (our current one), our Panasonic outer temp is not as hot. We definitely expect some heat dissipation when inside is 200F, but how much is too much and is it going to cost us more than the $20 initial price differences to keep the water at temp. It did came with a little cosmetic dint at the front. The product was perfectly packaged in two boxes, so it was not damaged during shipping for sure. otherwise, the boiler boils water as it should and dispense nicely. |

So far no leak no problem. this kettle hold 1.70 liters which is about 57.50 Oz.It takes 6 minutes and 45 seconds (6:45)to bring it to boil at full capacity (1.7 liters)and 4 minutes 32 seconds for 1.00 liter and at minimum recommended capacity which is half a liter(2 Cups) it take 2 minutes and 6 seconds water to boil(I start with water room temprature of 69F and 2500 feet above sea level). That it not bad. It could be better though. I like the idea of the body is Stainless Steel because plastic ones add Odor and chemical to the water which is not safe in my opinion(even though, this unit has some plastic part inside, Like filter or top part of the lid from inside But you can remove the filter if you want). It also has Blue LED light inside! the kettle so you can see if the unit in working or not. No cord is connected to the kettle itself so that's make it very convenient(cordless). I... My older kettle shuts off a bit earlier, but this is a personal thing. - Oily residue on the inside of the kettle. Difficult to remove, even after several rinsings with vinegar/water solution and dishwashing soap. Update: I don't notice the residue now, although it took 5 or 6 boilings to get to that point. - Inside is NOT entirely stainless steel, as another reviewer mentioned. There is the plastic(?) water level gauge, as well as a removable plastic mounting bracket for the filter, which is itself plastic. The wonderful shiny blue light (mentioned in the other reviews) comes from a small plastic casing at the base of the kettle. There is also a steel rod connecting the cap of the kettle to the base, and there is a small rubber seal at the base of this rod. It's very light weight but has a tall receptacle that holds the kettle well so we're not concerned about tip over.It boils incredibly fast & has a nice comfortable handle & easy to use lid release. Make sure you follow the initial instructions to boil 3x letting cool each time, before the first use to remove any foul taste. The element is not "protected" so we'd expect scale to build up, but that's easily cleaned. Only gripe is that the filter seems to fall out when tipped upside down. It had always felt pretty shoddy and light-weight - on a par with the kind of cheap kettle I took to college some 25 years ago, (very few like this are sold any more t'other side of the pond - bottom end of the market only, costing less than $15 final price.) For between $16 and $20 final price you can easily get much better and more stylish ones over there. Anyway, back to this kettle.
