Once I found that the wiring called for TWICE the amperage than was listed I finally got hot water. That was a rigamorole hopefully no-one else goes through if they read this. I am on city water so hard water is not a factor Then after two months it would not heat. Upon opening the cover i observed the mother board was fried i contacted Rheem they will not warrenty it because i don't have the seriel number. It is not on the piece of equipment it was on the card board box it came in (I recycle). They informed me that you can not replace parts on these you have to purchase a new one $614.00 is a lot of money for two months of hot water Rheem RTE 18 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 5 GPM 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: elect. hot water, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rheem RTE 18 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 5 GPM (Tools & Home Improvement) This is the first water heater I bought I, it seems to work very well now.
